The Johore Bar records with regret the demise of K. Sivarajendran Nair (“Siva”), a bachelor aged 55 after a prolonged illness early this morning the 3rd December 2012. The funeral took place at the Ngee Heng Chinese crematorium this afternoon.
Siva was an officer with the Immigration Department for many years. It was whilst working for the Government Department that Siva became enamoured with the law as he was assigned to the Department’s investigation and prosecution divisions.
He was also encouraged by his classmate the late R.A. Kumar. He therefore read the law and obtained a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of London (Ext), and later obtained the Certificate in Legal Practice.
He read in the chambers of his classmate the late Mr R.A. Kumar of Nijar Kumar Netto and was called to the Bar of Malaysia on 10 Mar 2001.
After his call to the Bar Siva worked as an Assistant in Nijar Kumar & Netto and later at C. Sukumaran & Co., before establishing his own practice under the name and style of K Siva & Co, where he undertook immigration and criminal cases.
The late lawyer leaves behind his mother, Madam Thangam and his two sisters who mourn his loss. Our sympathies are with the mother and sisters of the Siva in the hour of their grief and hope they will find solace in the words of “Cicero, Roman scholar (106-43 B.C.)”
“There is no grief which time does not lessen and soften”
“Be wise. Realize that all men are not created equal, for there is no equality in nature, yet no man was ever born whose work was not born with him.
Work every day as if it were your first yet tenderly treat the lives you touch as if they will end at midnight.”
May Siva’s soul rest in peace and his Gods grant him eternal and everlasting rest.
