The Johore Bar records with sadness the passing of Mr Philip Nainan, who was formerly with Abdul Raman Saad & Associates, on 15th September 2023.
Philip graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from National University of Singapore in 1966. He commenced practice at Athi Nahappan & Co in Kuala Lumpur for several years. He then left practice to join the Bata shoe company as legal advisor. After several years he moved to Johor Bahru and joined K.C Koh & Co. He later set up his own practice under the name ‘Philip Nainan & Co.’ After 8 years he joined Abdul Raman Saad & Associates as a partner and later became a Consultant at the firm in his more than 20 years there before his retirement.
Philip was a well-known and highly respected member of the Johore Bar. He was highly regarded for his love for the law, adherence to the values and traditions of the Bar and for his wide experience at the Bar.
The Johore Bar extends its heartfelt condolences and sympathies to his family members and loved ones.
