With effect from 8th December 2023, the High Court at Johor Bahru has received two new Judicial Commissioners. His Lordship Justice Kan Weng Hin will be presiding at High Court (Criminal 2) whereas Her Ladyship Justice Suriyati Hasimah binti Mohd Hashim will be presiding at High Court (Criminal 3).
The Committee has been informed by the Court that following the arrival of the new judges the distribution of criminal cases at the High Court effective from 13th December 2023 would be as follows:
- Justice Dato’ Abu Bakar bin Katar [High Court Criminal 1]: Case digit 0, 1, 2 & 3.
- Justice Kan Weng Hin [High Court Criminal 2]: Case digit 4, 5 & 6.
- Justice Suriyati Hasimah binti Mohd Hashim [High Court Criminal 3]: Case digit 7, 8 & 9.
- Justice Noor Hayati binti Haji Mat: part heard per direction from the Chief Judge.
- Justice Dato’ Sri Shamsulbahri bin Haji Ibrahim: part heard.
