Further to JBC Circular No.82/20, the following updates relating to conduct of court matters during the MCO 2.0 period are brought to members’ attention.
JOHOR BAHRU
- Johor Bahru
1.1 Subordinate Courts [Criminal]
The duty rotation schedule for the Criminal Sessions and Magistrate’s Court are attached respectively as APPENDIX–9 and APPENDIX–10.
NORTH JOHOR
2. Muar
2.1 High Court 1
The list of matters affected and their rescheduled dates received from Deputy Registrar Muar High Court, Puan Noor Shahidah binti Saharom is at APPENDIX–11.
3. Batu Pahat
3.1 Sessions Court
(i) The Sessions Court will operate only for the purposes of criminal matters involving fresh charges;
(ii) All other matters are postponed to a dated to be notified;
(iii) Mentions for cases registered manually will be via email while those registered via e-filing will be by way of e-Review in the Case Management System [CMS];
(iv) Members are advised to check the CMS for case status. For cases registered manually, members may contact the interpreters for further information and assistance.
3.2 Magistrates’ Courts
(i) All civil and criminal matters set down for trial/hearing are postponed to a date after MCO 2.0; the rescheduled dates will be notified in due course by the courts;
(ii) Only fresh criminal charges and remand matters will proceed;
(iii) Cases registered manually will be dealt with via email while those registered via e-filing will be by way of e-Review.
4. Kluang
4.1 Sessions Court
(i) All civil and criminal matters scheduled during this period are vacated. Remand proceedings and fresh charges will proceed as usual;
(ii) dates for matters registered via e-filing can be obtained via said system after 3:30 p.m, the latest;
(iii) e-Review matters may proceed as scheduled;
(iv) for adoption matters, the court will contact the solicitors concerned via email for suitable dates;
(v) the list of rescheduled dates is at APPENDIX–12 and reproduced here:-

4.2 Magistrate’s Court
Civil Matters
(i) Trial/hearing dates for all civil matters are converted to Case Management dates and will be conducted through email with respective parties to reschedule the trial/hearing dates. For matters registered via e-filing, please check the CMS;
(ii) Case managements in the CMS will proceed per usual via e-Review;
(iii) Mentions for cases registered manually will be via email while those registered via e-filing will be by way of e-Review in the CMS.
Criminal Matters
(iv) criminal trials are vacated and court will reschedule the trial dates through email;
(v) all criminal mentions are rescheduled per APPENDIX–13 and reproduced below:-

(i) Trial/hearing dates for all civil matters are converted to Case Management dates. Parties will be notified of the rescheduled trial/hearing dates in due course;
(ii) Case managements in the CMS will proceed per usual via e-Review;
(iii) Mentions for cases registered manually will be via email while those registered via e-filing will be by way of e-Review in the CMS.
