The Johore Bar proudly presents “Malaysian Art Night”, an evening dedicated to rediscovering the timeless arts of Malaysia, from the elegance of batik to the enchanting tales told through Wayang Kulit. Join us for a night where tradition comes alive and heritage takes centre stage.
With our curated line-up, here’s a glimpse of the nostalgic evening that awaits you:
MC of the Evening/Stand-Up Comedy
We are delighted to welcome Kavin Jay as our MC and featured comedian for the evening. One of Malaysia’s most celebrated stand-up performers, Kavin Jay is known for his sharp observational humour and engaging stage presence, having performed to audiences both locally and internationally. He will guide us through the evening with laughter and wit, while also taking the stage for a stand-up comedy performance.
Full course meal
Full Malaysian Chinese delicacies, course meal served throughout the evening.
Live Music
Experience the richness of live traditional music, performed by a percussion orchestra comprising tuned gongs, gamelan, metallophones, drums, and flutes.
Line up of not one but two performances for the evening:
a) Stand-Up Comedy by Kavin Jay
Be entertained by a stand-up comedy set delivered by our MC for the evening, bringing a contemporary touch of humour to complement the night’s celebration.
b) Wayang Kulit played by the Fusion Wayang Kulit Team
Watch as the ancient art of Wayang Kulit comes alive through the performance by Pak Dain @ tok dalang and his team from Fusion Wayang Kulit. Departing from traditional tales of epic battles past, this performance presents a modern fusion twist, accompanied by a full percussion orchestra for an immersive and dynamic experience.

| Implementation of Johore Bar Online Payment Portal The Johore Bar Committee has implemented the use of an Online Payment Portal (Billplz) starting 13 August 2025. Payments will be processed securely through the portal, and all banks supporting FPX are accepted. Depending on uptake, e-wallet options (TNG, Grab, Boost, ShopeePay) will be added in due course. Each Johore Bar event will have a dedicated payment link, which will expire once the event reaches capacity or the registration deadline. Members are encouraged to utilise this facility for a faster and more convenient registration experience. |
