Please be informed that the Johore Bar Committee and Befrienders Johore Bahru are organising the above titled Webinar.
The Covid-19 Pandemic and the nation’s response has brought upon Malaysians, significant changes to our lifestyles. These changes; requiring isolation, distancing and the lack of a social outlet have caused higher risks of mental health issues. These, coupled with the financial hardship brought about by the uncertain economic landscape have resulted in an unfortunate soar of Malaysians taking their own lives. The first quarter of 2021 saw 336 cases of suicide reported; a shocking average of 4 suicide cases per day.
As lawyers, we too are navigating these waters of mental isolation and economic hardship. The Johore Bar Committee, with the support of Befrienders Johor Bahru have therefore organised this Webinar to aid our lawyers and pupils and their families in learning techniques to cope with the unprecedented pressures of life today and in building a stable mental foundation to see us through this pandemic.

About the Speaker
Dr Abdul Kadir Bin Abu Bakar is a Resident Consultant Psychiatrist at Gleneagles Hospital, Medini. He is also the Founder of Minda Johor, a Non-Profit Organisation with the objective of developing Mental Health Awareness in the Community and providing support for the mentally disabled and their families. Dr Abdul Kadir has been a long-time supporter of Befrienders Johor Bahru, a Non-Profit Community Service whose call lines offer free emotional support to their callers through Befriending.

(1) Name of participant(s) and the corresponding Membership Number/Petition Number;
(2) Name of legal firm; and
(3) Email address of each participant.
Once you provide the Secretariat with the above details, you will receive an email with the registration link for the Webinar.

CPD points will be given upon completion of the whole session to participants who have attended until the end of the event and filled up the Attendance Form successfully.
