Our speakers will share their experiences and insights on navigating criminal defence, emphasizing on the techniques and strategies for criminal trials and appeals.

About the Speakers
COLLIN ANDREW is a practicing lawyer in Kuala Lumpur. He is the principal at Collin’s Law Chambers and he practices predominantly in the area of criminal law. He is a regular trainer for the criminal advocacy training of the Yayasan Bantuan Guaman Kebangsaan scheme, in addition to being a trainer for criminal and civil advocacy training courses conducted by the Malaysian Bar. Collin is frequently invited to speak on areas concerning human rights, criminal and immigration law, and train relevant stakeholders. Collin also lectures on criminal law practice and advocacy. Collin was an elected member of the Bar Council for the 2024/2025 term and has been re-elected for the 2025/2026 term. He is also the current Co-Chairperson for the National Legal Aid & YBGK Committee.
SUBASH RAMASAMY has a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from University of London and Certificate in Legal Practice. He has been a lawyer for the last 24 years and frequently appeared in Malaysian Appellate courts, High courts, Sessions courts and Magistrates courts. He is an active litigator at trial and appellate level. Has wide experience in dealing with the criminal law trials, quasi-criminal trials and Judicial Review cases. He was also involved industrial court and Election petition cases. He had held many watching briefs for the family of the underage rape victims, for people with disabilities and for family of the deceased person in the proceedings at the local courts. He has also represented people with disabilities. Has worked pro bono in several civil-liberties related trials. Has given motivational lectures to many secondary school students especially on the sensitive issues relating teenagers be it on legal or social aspects. He has authored several legal articles in local legal publications like Malayan Law Journal, Current Law Journals and Quarterly Law Review. Has actively took part in legal aid clinics to educate and advise public on the legal matters. He is also a part time tutor for students sitting for the CLP examination for the last few years and Criminal Procedure was one of the subjects that being taught by him.
