Circular No. 50/2023: Webinar on “How to be a Competent Lawyer?” (An Introduction To Advocacy) | 17 Aug 2023

The Young Lawyers and Chambering Pupils Sub Committee is organizing a series of talks for the benefit of young lawyers and pupils. The objective of the talks is to expose young lawyers and pupils to areas of law, procedure and practice that are common and which they will likely come across in practice later. It is hoped that this series will provide young lawyers and pupils with basic knowledge and understanding of general law and the basic skills of lawyering. This webinar is one of the initiatives towards that objective.   

This webinar will cover the following issues of interest:-

  • What is a lawyer?
  • What is a competent lawyer?
  • Skillset of a competent lawyer
  • Attitude of a competent lawyer
  • The importance of being a competent lawyer

About the Speaker

FAHRI AZZAT was called to the Bar in 1999. In his own words, he is a general practitioner with a bias for litigation across diverse areas of law. He is a trainer with the Bar Council Advocacy Training Committee and is also the author of The Malaysian Guide to Legal Practice (Sweet & Maxwell, 2019). He is the managing partner for Messrs Fahri, Azzat & Co.

  3. Email address of each participant.

Once you provide the Secretariat with the above details and the proof of payment, you will receive an email with the registration link for the Webinar. Participants will also receive slides (if any – with the permission of the speaker) subsequent to the Webinar by way of email.

CPD points will be given upon completion of the whole session to participants who have attended until the end of the event based on the online report of ‘logged-in’ duration.
