In a recent meeting with the judiciary, a complaint was brought to the attention of the Johore Bar Committee regarding appropriate legal attire. While we have heard general complaints regarding legal attire ad nauseum, this was a very particular complaint; male members of the Johore Bar were wearing their bibs with normal collared shirts, as opposed to wing-tip collared shirts. This was prevalent not only amongst the younger members of the Bar, but with some senior members as well.
In order to address this complaint and taking into consideration the lack of supply here in Johore, the Johore Bar Committee has sourced a specialist legal-wear tailor from Kuala Lumpur who is willing to come down to Johor Bahru in order to tailor-make legal-wear (not limited to wing-collared shirts) for members of the Johore Bar. The tailor will be bringing with him a variety of different materials for your choice. However, this is of course subject to the condition that we secure the minimum number of pax needed.
