Members are advised to take note of the following updates received today concerning Court operations in Johor from 25 May 2021 to 7 June 2021.
- Muar High Court
- Civil Cases
All civil matters, including those before the Deputy Registrars/Senior Assistant Registrars will be conducted via online.
- Criminal Cases
Criminal cases will be conducted physically and parties are to liaise with the courts concerning their cases.
- Kluang Sessions Court
- Except fresh charges and remands in criminal matters, all civil and criminal cases scheduled for this period are vacated;
- Parties are to furnish suitable dates for rescheduling of their matters via email to Court Interpreter, Puan Noraliza, at noraliza@kehakiman.gov.my;
- Mentions for civil cases will be conducted via email while mentions of criminal matters will be rescheduled and fresh Order To Produce (OTP) will be issued;
4. Matters set down for e-Review remain unchanged.
- Kluang Magistrate Court [Civil Matters]
- Lawyers are required to liaise with the Magistrate and interpreters on the scheduled trial and case management dates via email at arun@kehakiman.gov.my and pangfeiyin@kehakiman.gov.my;
- Should a civil matter be resolved as at the scheduled trial date, consent judgment can be recorded via email. If a case cannot be so resolved, a further date will be given;
- Mentions and case managements for civil cases will be conducted via email;
- Matters set for e-Review remain unchanged;
- E-filing cases for codes A74 and 76J will be conducted by e-review for further instructions.
- Batu Pahat Lower Courts
Letter dated 24 May 2021from the Batu Pahat Magistrate Court referred in JBC Circular No 32/2021 stated that all trials scheduled for this period are vacated. However, the Courts have today clarified that said directive applied to civil trial only not criminal matters.
