Please be informed that the Continuing Professional Development Sub-Committee of the Johore Bar is organising a Seminar on Companies Bill 2015 vis-à-vis Malaysian Companies Law.
The seminar will deal with:
- Background and historical introduction
- An overview of the changes introduced by the Companies Bill relative to the Companies Act 1965
~ Wholly new approaches
~ Modifications to Companies Act 1965 provisions
~ Discussion of some retained provisions
~ Some aspects for further reform
About the Speaker
Wong Tat Chung graduated in his first degree in law from King’s College, University of London in 1985. He was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales in 1986 as a Barrister-at-law of Lincoln’s Inn. In 1987, he obtained his Master’s degree in law from King’s College, University of London. He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 18 October 1988. Mr. Wong is a Partner of Wong Beh & Toh and practices in fields, including, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and capital markets and other corporate and commercial matters. Mr. Wong is a co-chairman of the Corporate and Commercial Law Committee of the Bar Council of Malaysia. He chairs the Limited Liability Partnership Sub-Committee (formerly the LLP Task Force), Competition Law Sub-Committee and SSM Sub-Committee, among others of that Committee.

Registration must be accompanied with payment to guarantee your place and is on a first-come first served basis limited to the first 90 members who register. Cash/Cheque should be crossed and made payable to JOHORE BAR HOUSE & LIBRARY FUND. Fee paid is non-refundable unless the event is cancelled.
If a participant is unable to attend, a replacement is allowed provided that the Secretariat of the Johore Bar is notified in writing prior to the commencement of the event. CPD points and Certificate of attendance will be given upon completion of the whole session to participants who have attended until the end of the event. However, certificate of attendance shall not be awarded to late comers or those participants who attend this event after 15 minutes upon its commencement.
