Kindly be informed that following the recent “NOTIS PEMAKLUMAN BERKAITAN PENDENGARAN KES 33JP” issued by the Registry of Muar High Court, all Joint Petitions for Divorce (Case Code 33JP) will be heard before the Muar Sessions Court Judges from 16th July, 2023.
This notification is pursuant to the Practice Direction of the Chief Judge of Malaya No. 2 of 2020 dated 22nd September 2020 that came into force on 1st October 2020 under which certain designated Sessions Court Judges in Peninsular Malaysia have been conferred the jurisdiction to hear Joint Petitions for divorce pursuant to sec 52 of the Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act 1976.
Members are kindly reminded to take note of the change and to take steps to ensure compliance with the said notification and to inform their clients accordingly.
