The Malaysian Bar has recently issued Circular No. 135/2026 dated 24 April 2026, inviting Members of the Bar to participate in the Malaysian Bar Watching Brief and Amici Curiae Team 2026.
The Malaysian Bar regularly undertakes watching briefs and appears as amicus curiae in matters involving public interest, criminal trials, and cases raising important questions of law before courts across the country. In view of the increasing number of such matters, the Bar is expanding its pool of counsel willing to serve in this capacity.
It has been observed that representation from our state Bar is presently limited. The Johore Bar Committee therefore encourages our Members to take up this opportunity to contribute to the profession and to the administration of justice.
