Ng Seng Kang (07/11/1948 – 25/10/2000)

The late Mr Ng Seng Kang was born on 7th November 1948. He graduated from University Sains Malaysia with Bachelor of Social Science and served there as Administrative Officer in the Registry for 3 years before venturing to study law in England.

He was called to the English Bar in February 1978 and the Malaysian Bar in September 1979.

He chambered at Messrs Shook Lin & Bok and worked as a Legal Assistant for Messrs C.S. Tang & Co. for 2 years before starting his own practice in Muar in 1981 under the name of Messrs Ng Seng Kang & Partners.

He was an old boy of St. Andrew’s School Muar and was appointed Chairman of the Board of Governors of the school (both primary and secondary) since 1984 until his demise.

He was very active in society and well known for his charitable services marked by the following:

served as Eng Choon Youth Malaysia’s National Youth leader from 1991 to 1997;

founder and chairman of benevolent society “Persatuan Xue Zhong Than”, Muar;

awarded “Heart of Gold” in September 1996 by DYMM Sultan of Johor;

served as chairman of Muar Hospital’s board of visitors from 1997;

served as leader of Bakti, Muar MCA division; and Councilor at Majlis Daerah Muar Selatan from 1999.

Mr Ng Seng Kang died at the age of 52 and leaves behind his wife and 3 children.
