Circular No. 51/19: Seminar on Practical Aspect of Electronic Evidence (4th Oct 2019)

Please be informed that the Continuing Professional Development Sub-Committee is organizing a Seminar on the Practical Aspect of Electronic Evidence.

In this day and age, evidence is gathered from increasingly diverse electronic sources such as websites, closed circuit cameras, digital photographs, emails, text messages and even social media. Therefore, presenting electronic evidence at trial has become commonplace. However, despite its norm, there are still some challenges lawyers and even judges face when it comes to electronic evidence. Admissibility, authenticity, reliability, and integrity of the electronic evidence in question are just a few of the issues that plague us in the courtroom.

This seminar aims to guide lawyers in the practical aspect of presenting electronic evidence at trial, from issues of admissibility all the way through to authenticity and everything in between.
