The Continuing Professional Development Sub-Committee of the Johore Bar is organizing a Seminar on Common GST Issues for Legal Practitioners.

The Seminar will cover as follows:

  • Types of tax invoices
  • General & Specific time of supply and reporting rules
  • Deposits & advance payment in client and office accounts
  • Disbursements vs Reimbursements
  • Costs awarded by court
  • Bad debts relief and claim
  • Common issues on input tax claims

Speaker: Dr. Benjamin Poh Chee Seng, Advocate & Solicitor

He practises mainly in taxation, construction adjudication & arbitration, commercial litigation and insolvency. He is also a chartered accountant, CFA Chartered holder, Fellow of Chartered Tax Institute Malaysia and Fellow of Singapore Institute of Arbitrator, having a PHD in Tax Law from Washington School of Law in the US and MBA from University of Manchester in the UK.
