About the Speaker

Carolyn Oh Li Lin (TEP) is the principal of Carolyn Oh and Co, a boutique law firm based in Penang. Ms Oh read law at the University of Kent at Canterbury, UK attaining her Bachelor of Law degree with Honours in 1993 and thereafter went on to qualify as a Barrister-at-Law from Middle Temple, UK in 1994. She was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1995 and has continuously practised for over 25 years in the legal profession.

Ms Oh handles a wide legal portfolio but her preferred and niche area is in estate planning ~ business, wealth and succession planning i.e. the authoring of Wills, trusts and foundations. Ms Oh is also a strong proponent of thinking beyond the WILL and often lectures on the need to be cognisant of grey areas such as estate duty and issues of mental incapacity. Ms Oh has regularly spoken on these topics at various conferences and seminars in the region and her articles have also been published to promulgate awareness for the need to plan forwards.
