In light of queries from Members of the Bar on how to charge fees under the Solicitors’ Remuneration Order 2005 (“SRO”), the Continuing Professional Development Sub-Committee of the Johore Bar in collaboration with the Bar Council CPD is organising a workshop to provide guidance on the provisions of the SRO.
Participants are required to bring a copy of the SRO to the workshop.

About the Speaker
Mr. Andrew Wong, a partner at Messrs Andrew Wong & Co, was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1978. He has served in various capacities in the Pahang Bar Committee and the Johore Bar Committee since 1983. He was a Bar Council member from 1987 to 1989, and chaired the Bar Council Conveyancing Practice Committee from 2008 to 2010. Mr. Andrew Wong has conducted briefings and seminars on conveyancing issues and on how to charge fees under the SRO for many State Bar Committees in Peninsular Malaysia.
Seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis for 60 registered participants. Kindly book your seats early by completing the enclosed Registration Form and returning it together the requisite payment to the Johore Bar Secretariat not later than Monday, 18th August 2014.
