Please be informed that the Shariah Sub Committee of the Johore Bar is organising a Seminar on the difference between Islamic Will and Non Islamic Will.
The seminar will cover the following topics:
- Introduction of Muslim and Non–Muslim Will systems in Malaysia
- What are the acts that govern both systems
- What are the process involved in both systems and conflicts (if any) or overlaps of interest between both systems and the solutions
- What are the differences between both systems.

About the Speaker
Tuan Hj. Zainal Abidin Sh. Zakaria obtained his Law Degree from Universiti Institute Teknologi MARA (UiTM). He also holds a post graduate Diploma in Syariah and Legal Practice from International Islamic University. He has vast experience in the corporate banking and finance sector having worked for sixteen (16) years before practising as a lawyer. He was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor on 1st December, 1995. He is well versed in the field of credit recovery, credit control, secretarialship, insurance and commercial transactions, banking transactions, Islamic banking and corporate matters. His last post before practising was Head of Corporate Services Division and Company Secretary of a subsidiary of a financial institution. Currently, as a practitioner, he is involved in banking work, Islamic banking, loan documentation, conveyancing, corporate advisory and litigation. He is also appointed as a Panel Member of the Disciplinary Committee since 1998, a Sub-Committee Member of the Selangor Bar for conveyancing practice & syariah, Sub-Committee Member of the Syariah Committee of the Bar Council and an Exco-Member of the Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Malaysia.
Registration must be accompanied with payment to guarantee your place and is on a first-come first served basis.
CPD points and Certificate of attendance will be given upon completion of the whole session to participants who have attended until the end of the event.
Cash/Cheque should be crossed and made payable to JOHORE BAR HOUSE & LIBRARY FUND. Fee paid is non-refundable unless the event is cancelled.
