Further to our Circular No. 9/2021 dated 30th March 2021, please be informed that Johore Bar Committee (“Johore Bar”) is conducting a survey for members of the Johore Bar on all the outstanding cases at the Office of Menteri Besar Johor. This is consequent to the meeting held with Pejabat Tanah & Galian Johor [“PTG”] on the 22nd of February 2021 whereby the Johore Conveyancing Sub-Committee had highlighted to PTG that there were many applications for State Consent for foreign acquisition or for waiver of restrictions-in-interest which have yet to be approved by the Office of Menteri Besar Johor.
Although PTG has no jurisdiction over the Office of Menteri Besar Johor, PTG has however in principle agreed to help us contact the relevant departments to inform them of the urgency of the matter and on the long outstanding files submitted thereof.
