This Seminar aims to educate members on proceedings in relation to Disciplinary Complaints and to provide attendees with lessons on complaints related matters such as:-

Dealing with WhatsApp messages from clients and how to overcome it;
Communicating to a person other than your client;
Vague Appointment Letters or Warrant To Act
Your letter writing to client on the outcome of a matter;
Ensuring your client does not suddenly turn;
Ensuring your legal fees are Agreed Legal Fees;
Ensuring your Appointment Letter covers all possible areas so as to avoid your client taking advantage of you;
Avoiding issues typically arising from stakeholding;
Billing your client and set-off;
Avoiding issues arising from Undertaking;
How to deal with a complaint; and
How to address the complaint.

About the Speaker

A VISHNU KUMAR was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1997. He is a Partner of Rajpal Firah & Vishnu. Vishnu was a Disciplinary Board Member of the Advocates & Solicitors Disciplinary Board from 2017 till 2021; Disciplinary Committee Member of the Advocates & Solicitors Disciplinary Board from 2010 till 2017; Chairman of the Selangor Bar Committee from 2013 till 2015; Selangor Bar Chairperson of the Civil Law Court Liaison Sub Committee from 2010 till 2013 and Selangor Bar Committee Member from 2010 till 2013.
