Please be informed that the Young Lawyers and Chambering Pupils and Continuing Professional Development Sub Committees is jointly organising a seminar entitled “Civil Trial Preparatory Work”
This course aims to provide participants with an overview of the preparatory work that has to be undertaken by a Counsel, to be ready for the trial. The rules on drafting pleadings will be discussed. There will also be a discussion on the relevancy of filing interlocutory applications. Further, the manner in which evidence is sought to be included in the Bundle of Documents and adduced in Court will also be discussed. Thereafter, there will be an introductory discussion on appeals procedure.

About the Speaker
Mr. Ravi Nekoo was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1995. He obtained his Masters in Laws and Masters in Criminal Justice in 2002 at the University Malaya. He was further admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales, Supreme Court of South Australia and the High Court of Australia as a Barrister and Solicitor. Having gained sufficient legal knowledge and experience and having run his own practice, he joined Messrs Hakem Arabi & Associates as a partner in 2009. He is a litigation lawyer who has appeared at all levels of the court. He has also authored several books, the latest being Malaysian Civil Procedure and Practice published by Current Law Journal and has been a tutor for students sitting for the CLP examination for many years.
