The Continuing Professional Development Sub-Committee of the Johore Bar is organizing a seminar on Technology for Law Firms: Revised To Cover GST Accounting. The seminar will be conducted in Muar and Johor Bahru respectively for the benefit of all members of the Johor Bar.
The seminar is directed at how law firms can use technology to improve operational efficiency and boost productivity through a platform that not only handles the administration and tracking of files and cases, but is also integrated with a strong accounting component that implement Goods and Services Tax (“GST”) tracking for client billing.

This seminar is open to Members of the Bar, pupil in chambers and law firm staffs.
The seminar will focus on:
- the generic components of a full-featured Case / Matter Management System (“CMS”);
- how to use cloud services as an integral part of your law firm’s operation;
- how to adopt zero software costs and minimise information and communication technologies (“ICT”) expenses in a typical law firm;
- the comparison of different bookkeeping and accounting technologies;
- how to adopt and implement GST tracking for all your client billing; and
- the use of a CMS as the core software for your firm.
Ideal for sole proprietors and small firms, this talk will provide a useful perspective on how technology can, with the right affordable platform, reduce time spent tracking files; provide a reliable and self-directed system for the administration of your law firm; and allow regular reporting for accounting and GST payment tracking.
About the speaker
Ng Sheau Feng has over 20 years of business and technical experience in the ICT industry. He started his career as a computer engineer, network and operating systems engineer, independent ICT consultant and web application developer, and later held various top management positions as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Technology Officer, and Vice President, of Internet and multimedia companies.
