WORKSHOP ON BASIC CONVEYANCING PRACTICE
Please be informed that the Continuing Professional Development Sub-Committee together with the Conveyancing Sub-Committee of the Johore Bar are jointly organising a workshop on basic conveyancing practice which is intended for beginners.
The workshop shall be conducted by MR. ANDREW WONG, the Chairman of the Conveyancing Sub-Committee.
During the workshop, the speaker will discuss the different stages of real property transactions (pre-contract, contract & post-completion); security documentation for financing acquisition of real property; preparation, execution & attestation of instrument of dealings; SRO 2005; Bar Council Rulings on conveyancing practice & other practice issues. Participants will be divided into groups and each group will be required to discuss and provide answers to workshop questions.
N.B. All participants are required to bring along a copy of the National Land Code 1965 and the Housing Development (Control & Licensing) Regulations 1989 (as amended on 01/07/2015)
BRIEFING ON THE CPD SCHEME
At this workshop, executive officers from the Bar Council’s Continuing Professional Development Department will be conducting a briefing on the implementation on a staggered basis of the new Continuing Professional Development Scheme for members and pupils with effect from 1 July 2016.

Registration must be accompanied with payment to guarantee your place and is on a first-come first served basis limited to the first 90 members who register. In view of the limited space available at the auditorium, priority shall be given to members of the Johore Bar who have been in practice for not more than 5 years and pupils-in-chambers, who register and pay.
CPD points and Certificate of attendance will be given upon completion of the whole session to participants who have attended until the end of the event.
Cash/Cheque should be crossed and made payable to JOHORE BAR HOUSE & LIBRARY FUND.
Fee paid is non-refundable unless the event is cancelled.
