Those of us who had the opportunity of knowing him knew him as a person of great determination. We were often astounded by the energy, the drive, the focus and the tenacity that he had with him. With such quality in him, it is therefore not surprising that he was able to build up a very successful legal practice for himself and his partner, Mr Gan Eng Loke.
Apart from being a successful solicitor, he was also well known for his business acumen. Despite being a very busy solicitor, he was actively involved in community services; especially in his hometown in Bukit Siput, Segamat. He provided his services freely and readily to the clubs and associations in that area. He gained their respect by his diligence in rendering his services to them on a regular basis; and in giving a part of his life to them.
In 1998, the world came crushing down on him when was diagnosed as having a malignant brain tumour. After that, he was with us for another two years before he finally departed from this world. When he passed away on 27 March 2000, he was only 33 years. Mr Tey Lim Bok leaves behind his beloved wife, Pee Cho Ket and daughter, Tey Yuan Yuan.
