Please be informed that the Continuing Professional Development Sub-Committee is organising a seminar entitled Introduction to Constitutional Law in Malaysia.

The topics covered in the talk will include the following:

  • Introduction to the Federal Constitution
  • Basic principles of interpreting the constitution
  • Constitutional Rights
  • Basic Structure Principles

About the Speaker

Mr. Srimurugan Alagan holds a Masters in Law (LL.M) specializes in International Dispute Resolution from the University of London. He was admitted as an advocate and solicitor in 2003. Srimurugan was the Project Head of Bar Council Legal Aid from 2004-2006, Member of the Asean Law Association of Malaysia; member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Malaysia in 2015 and a Legal Advisor (Experimental Aircraft Association, Malaysia) (EAA) from 2005-2009.

He has written several articles which have been published in CLJ namely Remand Proceedings – Practice and Procedure [2005] 2 CLJ i, Right to a Speedy Trial – Fact or Fiction? He is also the author of the book titled “Jurisdiction of Courts in Malaysia”.

Registration must be accompanied with payment to guarantee your place and is on a first-come first served basis.

Members are allowed to redeem their event vouchers worth RM30.00 per event on a “first come first served basis” limited to the first five [5] registered participants only. The vouchers are transferable. If you are redeeming a voucher belonging to someone else, kindly provide the particulars of the original voucher holder (Name and BC member No.). Members will be required to e-mail the particulars of the voucher holder and name of the participant three [3] days prior to the event to secretariat@johorebar.org.my for verification process. If the voucher has already been redeemed, JBC reserves the absolute right to claim from the member for the costs of the event.

CPD points and Certificate of attendance will be given upon completion of the whole session to participants who have attended until the end of the event.
